The return of the phage

Over the past decade, bacteriophages have occasionally stirred public and media interest because of their potential as biological weapons against bacterial infections. Such reports have tended to come from Russian or Georgian laboratories, whereas Western research institutes and companies have usually found that phages do not live up to their promise.
